This is a confirmation to certify that a description of a new for science scorpion species,
Anomalobuthus talebii Teruel Kovařík, Navidpour et Fet, 2014, sp. nov.
is currently in press in research journal “EUSCORPIUS”.
The single (type) specimen that serves as a holotype has been collected by Mr. Amir Talebi Gol (1980–2014), in Iran, South Khorasan Province, Hemmatabad Desert, on 17 April 2013 This finding constitutes a new record of rare genus Anomalobuthus (family Buthidae) for Iran as well as the important most southern geographic record for this genus. We dedicate this beautiful species to the memory of its collector, who was a very active Iranian zoologist specialized in the sand deserts of the country.
The sample was send for analysis by Dr. Shahrokh Navidpour, Head of Razi Reference Laboratory of Scorpion Research (RRLS), Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, Department of Venomous Animals & Toxins, Hesarak, Karaj, Iran.
